Collective Agreement Uom

Education Minister Dolores Cristina presided over the signing of the agreement. The collective agreement was signed by the university`s rector, Juanito Camilleri, the vice-chancellor of the University Bernie Mizzi and the secretary general of the UHM, Josef Vella, in collaboration with other representatives of the workers. Through this agreement, university staff will benefit from improved working conditions, including higher wages, more family-friendly measures and additional resources to enable staff to develop their skills. U-M has collective agreements with various work organizations representing selected employees who perform certain roles on Ann Arbor, Dearborn, Flint Campus and Michigan Medicine. These employees perform essential tasks in the university`s teaching, research and patient care missions. These include nurses, police officers, PhD students, craftsmen and much more. The administrative, technical and industrial staff of the University of Malta will continue to benefit from improved working conditions, including wage increases and better pay structures. This agreement covers the period between January 1, 2017 and the end of December 2021. A collective agreement has been signed between the University of Malta and the Haddiema Maghqudin (UHM) union for the university`s administrative, technical and industrial staff.

As with the UOM, JC academic staff are promoted on recommendation to the University Council and approved by the University Council after receiving a recommendation from the Doctors Board. There are two selective criteria for promotion: proven quality in teaching and commitment to junior college and the education sector. As with the UOM, there are no official calls for promotion, but candidates are not expected to apply until they have evaluated themselves and their performance. Nevertheless, it is understood that lecturers in this sector respect and anchor the six principles set out in the above code of ethics in their practice and behaviour.
